"When I enrolled in the English class at the Literacy Council of Reading-Berks in September 2021, I was very shy and nervous about speaking English because I was worried about my pronunciation and it was difficult to understand English speakers. The course as well as the interaction with other students helped me to learn new and useful expressions and a wide range of basic pronunciation skills. Each class is different, which allows me to practice and learn even more.
From the basic English class to the advanced level, my English has greatly improved not only by gaining more language learning skills, but also confidence. The ESL IV class in particular not only helped me get a better job, but it also helped me perform well in that job, and made me aware of the best next steps to take to achieve my goals.
I've gotten better at discussing my thoughts, feelings, and communicating them effectively in English. My instructors have always been patient and open to all my questions and suggestions. I am very grateful to them for always supporting and encouraging me in everything."
